High blood sugar doesn't have to end with a diabetes diagnosis — lifestyle changes can prevent or delay the onset of disease.



Making a few changes in your lifestyle now may help you prevent the complications of diabetes in the future, such as nerve, kidney and heart damage.

It's never too late to get started! Lifestyle changes can help prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes, the most common form of the disease. Prevention is especially crucial if you're currently at an increased risk due to excess weight or obesity, high cholesterol, or a family history of diabetes.


Start slow… make one to three changes at a time to ensure success. Most individuals dive head into a program trying to change everything all at once… This is very difficult to do and can lead to failure, so take it slow it’s

make one to three changes per week or biweekly and celebrate your successes… learn from any setbacks as they will make you stronger if you take the time to overcome them.


Note: it's important that you can safely say, your ability to achieve success is a 7 or above on a scale of 1-10. If not, it's best to delve into what the obstacles are you feel would hold you back, and develop a plan to overcome them. Having a support from friends and family or groups of similar interest can be very helpful.

  4. Eat healthy fats. ...best way to include fats in your diet is to have them raw. Such as steaming  vegetables and later, adding high quality organic, extra virgin, cold and first pressed olive oil, seasoned with pink salt, pepper, garlic and some Parmesan cheeses, instead of sautéing.
